The founder of HALO, Marie Macklin CBE, is a Scotland-born entrepreneur with a career in finance, construction, property development and now established as one of Scotland’s new generation of entrepreneurs and business angels. HALO Kilmarnock is the first of four planned for the UK, linked through vision and innovation, sharing experience and successes and aligning initiatives for the economic and social benefit of the communities around them in Wales, the north of England and Northern Ireland. The intention is for HALO to be global in perspective, to inspire new approaches to economic transformation, to address local needs, to stimulate innovative and entrepreneurial business and to facilitate learning and employability, particularly among the young.
